Nila & Ali: Parisian Romance at Fairmont Royal York
Powder blue, garden flowers, and a meaningful sofreh aghd brought a Parisian vision to Toronto.
Explore the wedding story
Nila and Ali imagined the romance of Paris for their wedding. At Toronto’s Fairmont Royal York, that idea became a ballroom filled with soft colour, layered flowers and details that also honoured their Iranian heritage.
A Parisian mood, made personal
The photographs tell a story of elegance with warmth: a grand Toronto ballroom, but a table where guests could still feel surrounded by flowers and candlelight. The Parisian inspiration gave the day its softness; the sofreh aghd gave it a centre that belonged unmistakably to Nila and Ali.
Lux Events Co carried those two ideas through the celebration, letting the Fairmont’s chandeliers provide the drama while powder blue, lavender and ivory brought the design closer to the guests. The aim was a room that felt romantic from the doorway and inviting once everyone sat down.
Paris, translated for Toronto
Powder-blue draping and blue velvet accents gave the historic room a fresh point of view. Flowering trees, lavender and ivory arrangements, gold chairs and candlelight softened the ballroom beneath its chandeliers. Vintage-inspired tableware added another small, considered layer to the setting.
The result was a room that held onto the Fairmont’s grandeur while feeling intimate around each table. The colours moved gently from the ceremony through the reception, tying the day together without asking every detail to match exactly.
A ceremony rooted in heritage
The couple’s modern sofreh aghd made space for Iranian tradition within the Parisian-inspired design. It was a personal centrepiece of the celebration, set against the hotel’s historic painted ceiling.
For the reception, the floral canopy, candles and carefully chosen table pieces turned the ballroom into a setting for dinner and dancing. Explore the full Nila and Ali wedding gallery for more views of the room.
